The first trip
Our first business trip together. Two founders, one carry-on each, and a shared obsession we couldn't quite explain to anyone at dinner. Destination: Porto.
How two girls fell for a little silver fish.
It started with broth. It became a love affair with sardines.
Eight days, one obsession, a very full drawer.
We're Vidhie & Nati. A few months ago we started a bone broth company — two friends and one very ambitious kitchen. Then we booked a flight to Porto to learn about sardines, and honestly? We never fully came back.
Our first business trip together. Two founders, one carry-on each, and a shared obsession we couldn't quite explain to anyone at dinner. Destination: Porto.
We checked into our first-ever five-star hotel and stood in that lobby like we owned the place. We didn't. But give us a minute.
We walked the floors of Portugal's most famous sardine canneries. The rhythm, the silver, the salt — decades of craft happening right in front of us. Completely hooked.
We met the coolest people in the tinned-fish world. They gave us everything — how it's caught, how it's cured, how it's tinned, and the secret nobody tells you: the exact season a sardine is at its very best.
Then we did what any sane person would do. We bought sardines. A lot of sardines. An unreasonable, glorious amount of sardines.
And so the drawer was born — a whole drawer of tins, sorted, stacked and slightly out of control. Our friends thought we'd lost it. We'd actually just found it.
We posted about it. The internet agreed. Our first viral moment — turns out we weren't the only ones quietly, deliriously obsessed with a good tin.
Now we're curating the best of everything we found — the finest sardines the coast has to offer, boxed up and sealed with ten kisses. For you.
We didn't start a fish company. We started a feeling.
Somewhere between a bone-broth kitchen and a Porto rooftop, we realised the thing we loved wasn't just the sardines — it was the ritual. The tin cracked open at golden hour. The bread, the good olive oil, the people who linger. We started The Salty Club to bottle that feeling and hand it to you, one beautiful tin at a time.
We hunt down conservas worth obsessing over and treat them like the treasure they are. No sad pantry afterthoughts here.
A tin, a terrace, good company. We're building a brand around slowing down and savouring — the Mediterranean way.
The Salty Club is a community of people who just get it. You're not a customer — you're a keeper.
To make tinned fish the most desirable thing on your table — and bring a little Mediterranean sun to wherever you are.
The box is coming.
Get on the list and be first through the door when the first tins drop.
